Bardy

Construction with specific challenges

  • MW realised: 50 MW
  • Turbines erected: 25 WTG
  • Start of operation: 2011

The Bardy wind farm is located on the coast of Poland in the near of Koszalin and comprises 25 turbines of the type V90 with a hub height of 105 meters and a total nominal capacity of 50 megawatts.

The WKN Group took over the complete responsibility for the construction management at that time. The energy generated by the wind farm had to be transported over a distance of about 30 kilometres to a 400/110 kV transformer substation Dunowo, of which 400 kV part is operated by PSE and 110 kV part by the Polish energy provider Energa – where the Bardy WF connection point was established. Therefore the voltage was already converted from 20 kV to 110 kV in a transformer substation at the wind farm. Due to that the WKN Group was laying a high voltage cable in the ground for the first time, which at that moment, was also the longest 110 kV cable line in Poland.

The project was sold to the investor Equiventus Capital S.a.r.l. The company is a subsidiary of Equiventus Holding S.A., a global wind power investment fund based in Luxembourg.
